API Aim to deliver shorter lead times
Now in their 20th year,API Precision Toolmakers Ltd. offer high quality precision toolmaking and machining services supplying, amongst others, the watch, electronics, automotive, electrical and IT industries.

API are committed to making full use of the latest CAD/CAM and CNC machining technologies and also to provide their customers with the best possible service.

Quality
API have the capacity to manufacture mould and press tools to close tolerances and in fact specialise in the supply of moulds for the manufacture of precision quality parts. For the trial of tools API have their own moulding facilities which enables them to submit samples for customer approval.

API Also provide, along with other machining services, first class wire erosion facilities utilising the latest Charmilles Technology. We also have the capability to burn 0.20 dia - 2.50 dia start holes through hardened steel with our fast hole driller.

CNC Investment
The requirement to create increasingly complex computer generated components within shorter lead times, led API to purchase a new CNC machining centre.

3-D machining of electrodes was initially contracted out, with loss of control over quality and delivery. However, the acquisition of a Mikron VCP 600 with Heidenhain 426 control, has given us the opportunity to regain control, which with the addition of NC Graphics Machining Strategist, enables API to deliver the shorter lead times which our customers demand.
